Educator and Visual Artist

Darren is an Educator/Artist with a background in Community Art and Media. With an enduring commitment to social cohesion through engagement in the arts, Darren currently holds the office of President of Beechworth Arts Council.

On the back burner, Darren has a near completed Doctorate of Philosophy researching the continuing impact of Romanticism on contemporary art. This thesis he fully intends to finish, sometime between now and death.

In senior years, Darren increasingly considers himself a Visual Artist with a focus on painting the Still Life. His style is consciously mid-twentieth century Modernist with a strong nostalgic bent.

When not being a Visual Artist, Darren is a collector of art books and pre-loved objects, many of which, from time to time, find their way into his paintings.
