Beechworth Arts Council invites you to celebrate our 50th anniversary by participating in the Unveiled – portraits of creative Beechworth project.
Unveiled will be a snap shot of artists and artisans who live and work in Beechworth in 2025. In the fine tradition of artist photos, this project will feature artists and artisans making art and alongside their work.
How and when will the photos be taken?
We’ll work with you to take the best shot. A Beechworth Arts Council committee member will attend all photo sessions along with our official photographer (details soon). Photos will be taken in April and early May 2025.
Where will the photos be shown?
All photos will exhibited in an online gallery throughout 2025, with 24 of the best images selected by an independent panel of arts professionals for exhibition at the Sub-Treasury Building of the historic precinct during the month of June. Accompanying this exhibition will be featured examples of artwork.
Who can participate?
All artists and artisans who live and work in Beechworth are invited to take part. The participation fee is $20 or $10 for arts council members. If you wish to become a member of Beechworth Arts Council, the reduced entry of $10 includes the added benefit of showcasing your artwork at our other exhibitions during the year.
All participants receive a copy of their photo and an exclusive invitation to our wine and cheese soiree celebrating 50 fabulous years of art and creativity. All photos will be archived at the Burke Museum as a historic record of art and art making in Beechworth in 2025.
Why now?
Unveiled – portraits of creative Beechworth will be the fourth instalment in the Beechworth Family Album – a community photography project launched in 1984, with chapters in every decade since. Unveiled promises to be a high profile celebration of local artists and creativity, marking Beechworth Arts Council 50th Birthday,
Beechworth Arts Council is a not-for-profit community arts organisation with the aim of building opportunities for local artists and artisans, and fostering creative activities across the Indigo hills.
