Beechworth Arts Council members add their twist on Australian iconography for the Spring Ditch Festival, Stanley.
This unique art installation, titled Neds Heads is the brain child of Beechworth Arts Council’s Secretary, Jo Voigt. The project features corrugated sheets of iron decorated with the instantly recognisable Ned Kelly helmet letter box and idiosyncratic designs from contributing Beechworth Arts Council artists.
A hit at last years Spring Ditch Festival, Spring Ditch Creatives’ Neds Heads were later transformed into a popular Beechworth Arts Council float in the 2022 Easter Parade.
Spring Ditch Creatives’ Neds Heads project 2023
The second installation of Neds Heads by Spring Ditch Creatives played a role in the annual Spring Ditch festival at Stanley Show Ground, Saturday March 04 2023.
These distinctly decorated sheets of corrugated iron were once again proudly mounted around the Stanley oval to greet festival patrons on arrival. Spring Ditch Creatives promises an expanded art making workshop programme for Spring Ditch 2024. Watch this space for details.
